United Health Services Hospitals, located in Binghamton, NY seeks an AP/CP board-certified/eligible pathologist with fellowship training in gastrointestinal pathology
UHS Pathology and Laboratory Medicine department handles approximately 20,000 surgical pathology cases, 20,000 GYN cytopathology cases, 3000 non-gynecologic cytopathology cases, 250 autopsies, 250 bone marrows, 1100 flow cytometry cases, and 5 million clinical pathology tests per year.
UHS Pathology and Laboratory Medicine department currently has 2 board-certified (BC) cytopathologists, 3 BC hematopathologists, 1 BC neuropathologist, 1 BC transfusion medicine specialist, 1 breast/ob/gyn fellowship-trained and AP/CP board-certified pathologist, 1 GU fellowship-trained and AP/CP board-certified pathologist, 1 GI/Liver fellowship-trained and AP/CP board-certified pathologist, 1 BC dermatopathologist, 1 BE forensic pathologist, 1 BC autopsy pathologist, and 3 pathologist assistants. Hematopathology, neuropathology, thyroid FNAs, most of the skin, breast and ob/gyn pathology, GU pathology, GI pathology, and autopsy cases are handled by the specialists. Because of increasing volumes of gastrointestinal pathology cases, we need to hire a fellowship-trained gastrointestinal pathologist. Gastrointestinal pathologist will also have the responsibility of teaching gastroenterology fellows in our clinical gastroenterology fellowship program.
The department has a comprehensive QA program in AP and CP.
The department has state-of-the art immunohistochemistry laboratory, flow cytometry laboratory, automated histology laboratory, and automation in clinical pathology disciplines.
