In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.
Job Description
The Diagnostic Molecular Oncology Department is seeking a Lab Aide!
You will:
- Rotate reagents/supplies according to dates received and/or expiration dates
- Helping lab staff with general laboratory tidiness and decontamination
- Maintain competency in the clerical and related work of the laboratory, record keeping of reagents and chemicals and other related duties
- Work under direct supervision of senior technologist, laboratory supervisor or manager of the clinical laboratory
- Prepare and maintain organized laboratory Quality Control documents and result filesInventory management: Maintaining adequate inventory for laboratory supplies and equipment
- Assisting with special projects as needed

You Need:
- High school diploma plus 1-2 years of technical education or experience.
- 1 year of Basic Clinical Laboratory terminology.
- Ability to work as part of the team and independently when required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interfacing with Service Chiefs, Department Chairs/Directors, Administrators, Managers, attending staff, principal investigators, and peers outside division.
Hours: M-F, 9-5 or 10-6 with flexibility, onsite
