Job SummaryAssists in the gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens.Job DutiesAccessions specimens in laboratory information system or by manual method when applicable.Performs gross examinations and dictation for certain prescribed types of tissue specimens; preserves the remaining specimen after the completion of sampling.Performs dissection of tissue in a fresh state for preparation of frozen sections.Assist and perform microtomy of frozen tissue section on cryostat instrument.Performs staining of frozen section slides for microscopic examination by pathologist.Ensures accurate labeling of frozen section slides with patient identification.Notifies Pathologist and Pathologist's Assistant of r
