OverviewThe Team Leader, Pathology is responsible for the processing and allocation of laboratory specimens and orders from all sources and/or collects specimens on all age populations as assigned with minimal patient impact. Responsible for verification of patient/specimen identification, appropriateness of specimen and accompanying orders. Responsible for the daily organization of the Phlebotomy and/or Specimen Processing sections of the Clinical laboratory. Responsibilities include organization of daily workflow within the section, scheduling of staff for daily assignments, IS monitors related to specimen collection, training/education of staff, maintaining proper and complete training records in compliance with laboratory standards and accrediting agencies.
