Job Summary
Geisinger Laboratory Medicine seeks an AP or AP-CP boarded pathologist in the Head & Neck subspecialty. Fellowship training strongly preferred. Additional experience in thoracic pathology a plus.Job Duties
AT A GLANCE:
- Geisinger's core laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility located in Danville, PA with a pathology residency program and well-established cytopathology and dermatopathology fellowship programs
- Laboratory Medicine performs approximately 15 million billable clinical tests, 98,000 surgical cases, including approximately 3000 head and neck cases, and 42,000 cytology cases annually
- Extensive panel of immunohistochemical stains and advanced ancillary testing including organ specific NGS testing performed in house
- Professional staff includes 44 pathologists and PhDs
- Integrated pathology and laboratory services across the Geisinger system practice in a sub-specialty model
- Teaching responsibilities include medical students, residents, and fellows in pathology and non-laboratory specialties
- Academic appointment in the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and research opportunities available

GEISINGER MEDICAL CENTER (GMC), located in Danville, PA., is the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children's Hospital. GMC, a Magnet Hospital, maintains the region's only Level I Regional Resource Trauma Center with additional qualifications in pediatrics. GMC offers an array of highly specialized medical and surgical services, including neurosciences, cardiovascular services, transplantation, women's health (in the Women's Pavilion), oncology and orthopaedics. The Hospital for Advanced Medicine serves as an integrated center for the most critical patients. Outpatient services are available on and off campus.
