ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN (USA). The Department of Pathology at Michigan Medicine is recruiting for a Full-time Pathologist in the Medical Renal Pathology Section.
Medical Renal Pathology at Michigan is a subspecialty service dedicated to providing superior and cutting-edge care for our patients and diagnostic expertise to our internal and extramural clinical partners in Nephrology and Rheumatology. Applicants must be an MD or a DO and be certified in anatomic pathology by the American Board of Pathology. The ideal candidate will be fellowship trained with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A track record of peer reviewed publications, clinical excellence and commitment to education are desirable.
Appointment will be at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience, accomplishments, and track record of academic achievement. Both Clinical and Tenure track candidates will be considered based on background. Excellent diagnostic and communication skills, and a commitment to service excellence and scholarly work are required.
Our world-class health care system, Michigan Medicine, is home to one of the leading Kidney and Pancreas transplant programs in the country and features an active surveillance biopsy program for the detection of subclinical rejection and other processes. Medical Renal faculty are actively involved clinical and translational research and meet weekly for a consensus conference. Ample opportunities to engage in original research and collaborate with clinical colleagues are available. The department maintains a Molecular Pathology Research Laboratory to support precision medicine initiatives and provides research funding for projects through our Anatomic Pathology Funding Committee to promote and facilitate faculty development.
