Pennsylvania Hospital University of Pennsylvania Health System Department of Pathology Surgical Pathology Fellowship Immediate Opening (07/01/2024-06/30/2025)
Description: The Department of Pathology of Pennsylvania Hospital, University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) offers a one-year fellowship in surgical pathology from July 2024 to June 2025. The fellow's primary responsibilities include signing out of surgical cases, frozen section diagnosis and various tumor board conferences presentations. The program offers excellent experience in general surgical pathology training, with particular emphasis on breast, GYN, GI and ENT pathology. In addition, the fellow is able to do elective rotations at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania (HUP), to expand his/her subspecialty interests. There is also opportunity for attending conferences and research projects.
Requirements: This position is open to applicants who have completed their training in AP and are Board eligible or certified.
Stipends: Are commensurate with the resident's level of training.

Surgical Pathology Fellowship
The department of Pathology at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia (a component of Pennsylvania Health System) offers 1- year fellowship in general surgical pathology. The responsibilities of fellows include supervised sign-out of a comprehensive range of both neoplastic and non-neoplastic surgical specimens and responsibility for frozen section diagnosis. Fellows participate in all aspects of surgical pathology, with increased responsibility for independent decision making and diagnosis. With the residents at the Pennsylvania Hospital and the faculty at the hospital, there are many opportunities for interacting with staff and direct teaching. The rotations are primarily at the Pennsylvania Hospital. Fellows also are offered elective rotations in various subspecialty services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Development of a clinical / translational research project during the fellowship year is strongly encouraged.
