JOB SUMMARY

HIRING IMMEDIATELY 

The Anatomic Pathology Specialist performs and monitors a variety of anatomic procedures and processes, assumes responsibility for problem resolutions, training others on all aspects of the department with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

• Perform variety of technical procedures resulting in creation of microscopic slide preparations.
• Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures.
• Recognize and take appropriate action when established procedures and policies are not followed.
• Perform instrument maintenance, maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and troubleshooting as needed.
• Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities.
• Demonstrates and educates laboratory principles, technical skills and provide direction to others.
• Performs all delegated functions as defined by facility CLIA Director. Assume leadership responsibility in the absence of Supervisor/Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

HIRING IMMEDIATELY

• LOCATION - BUMC GROSS ROOM ONLY Downtown Dallas TX 
• SHIFT - Day 9:00am - 5:30pm  work every 4th Saturday after trained from 7:00am - 3:30pm 
• EDUCATION - Bachelors or Equivalent Exp or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
• EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
• EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience
• PREFERRED EXPERIENCE - Experince with Frozen Section Microtomy  GROSS ROOM ONLY with ASCP HT 

- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -

• ASCP-Histotechnician (ASCP-HT), ASCP-Histotechnologist (ASCP-HTL): Must have one of the following:
• ASCP-Histotechnician
• ASCP-Histotechnologist.
