Physician Hematology/Oncology
The Physician-Hematology/Oncology is accountable to providing health care to outpatient and inpatient veterans in accordance with approved clinical privileges in internal medicine and hematology-oncology. The Physician work in collaboration with and oversight of advanced ARNPs or PAs in the care of such patients. The Physician Hematology/Oncology duties consist of but are not limited to the following: Provide state of the art outpatient care to hematology/oncology patients which includes new consultations, initiation and management of chemotherapy, maintaining proficiency with appropriate procedures required for care of such patients, and follow-up care of such patients. Manage chronic medical problems and preventive medicine such as management of problems specific to hematology /oncology
