LabCorp is seeking an Executive/Chief Medical Director (Anatomic Pathologist) to lead its teams at Dianon Pathology in Shelton, CT. Dianon is the largest anatomic pathology testing facility within the LabCorp system, reporting 300,000 test results annually. The Shelton facility is an 80,000 sq. ft. facility that employs ~200 people focused on enhancing the patient and customer experience with LabCorp. Shelton offers testing in the departments of hematopathology, uropathology, dermatopathology, gastrointestinal pathology, general surgical pathology, cytology and clinical trials.
Provide site-wide leadership and direction to the various testing areas through the direction of subspecialty medical directors for each discipline
Assure compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines/standards
Oversight and assurance of accurate and timely evaluation of anatomic specimens tested
Play a key leadership role in collaborations with LabCorp scientists to evaluate new diagnostic technology
Provide oversight of all aspects of Quality Management System to ensure conformance to requirements described in Clinical Laboratory Practices Standards and New York State Department of Health
Maintain an effective working relationship with applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies, administrative offices, and the medical community
Assures good laboratory practice (GLP) across all disciplines and compliance with applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies
Provide expert consultation as needed with clients and staff, in person, by phone or electronically
MD Pathologist with board certification in Anatomic Pathology
Fellowship training and extensive experience in surgical pathology, hematopathology, uropathology, gastrointestinal pathology, dermatopathology or cytology
Minimum 12 years of experience as a Pathologist
Proven leadership experience leading other Pathologists
Comprehensive leadership experience across multiple sub-specialty areas
Wide breadth of knowledge in anatomic pathology and familiarity with related emerging diagnostic technologies
Ability to travel possibly 10% based on customer request
Previous experience working in a high volume laboratory setting highly preferred
Current NYDOH qualification and experience with NYDOH certification desired
