Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Cincinnati, OH The Division of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) has an opening at the Assistant/Associate Professor level starting July, 2018 for an individual to serve as Assistant Medical Director of Clinical Laboratories. The successful candidate must have an MD/DO degree, be board certified/eligible in CP (or AP/CP) and be eligible for a State of Ohio medical license. Candidates completing their training by July, 2018, will be considered. Experience/training in Transfusion Medicine is preferred. The Division performs approximately 3 million tests per year, serving the needs of one of the leading children's hospitals in the nation. The Clinical Laboratories include a large central lab at the main campus, small hospital lab at Liberty Township and 5 outpatient laboratories located throughout the region. Transfusion medicine-related activities of the hospital include bone marrow transplantation, trauma services, ECMO, cardiothoracic surgery including transplant and left ventricular device placement, solid organ transplantation, sickle cell and thalassemia care, hemophilia care, oncology services, neonatal and pediatric ICU care and gene therapy. The Division also serves a large regional area for reference testing, which includes a multi-office adult oncology practice in addition to primary and specialty care pediatrics offices. The candidate will help provide professional oversight to the main clinical laboratory; duties will include recommending acquisition of new technology, interpreting test results for clinical staff, providing clinical oversight of testing personnel and procedures, and representing the Division in intra- and inter divisional performance improvement activities. Teaching of clinicians, medical students and technical staff at all levels is expected. Numerous opportunities exist for professional growth.
