University of Toledo College of Medicine, Department of Pathology
The Department of Pathology (www.utoledo.edu/med/depts/path/) at the University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC) is seeking a full-time, tenure track, academic surgical/cytopathologist. UTMC is a tertiary care center that supports UT College of Medicine programs for medical students, graduate students, and residents in a wide variety of programs. The Department of Pathology has training programs for AP/CP residents, for pathologists' assistants, and for laboratory technicians. The successful candidate will share primary clinical responsibilities at UTMC with four other surgical/cytopathologists. Teaching of residents and medical students is a critical part of this position, and the successful applicant must have exemplary teaching skills. Excellent opportunities are available for independent or collaborative research, and the candidate is expected to develop a strong publication resume. Applicants must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree, must be AP or AP/CP Board certified or eligible, and must be eligible for licensure in Ohio. Training in cytopathology is essential, and expertise in some other specialty area of surgical pathology is desirable. Evidence of excellence in teaching and evidence of significant scholarly activity are also essential.
Additional Salary Information: Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with training, experience, and academic record.
